Dr. Sabine Konrad focuses on international dispute resolution, with an emphasis on investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration. Sabine advises investors and governments in matters of investment protection. She has experience representing clients in a broad range of industries, including energy and infrastructure. She has represented clients in cases across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia. In addition, she acts as arbitrator in investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration cases. She has experience as sole arbitrator, tribunal president, and co-arbitrator.
In 2007, 2013 and 2019, Sabine was appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators of the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) by the Federal Republic of Germany. She is a member of the roster of arbitrators of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the list of practitioners of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), the Panel of Arbitrators and the Panel of Mediators of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), the Panel of Arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and the Panel of Arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). She is also included on the panels of other arbitration institutions that do not publicize their lists. She was also appointed by the president of SIAC to serve as a member of its Users Council.
Sabine also founded the Frankfurt International Arbitration Moot Court, the leading international moot court in the investment treaty field. In 2005, she was involved in setting up the Frankfurt International Arbitration Center, a cooperation facility of ICSID for investment treaty arbitrations in Germany.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Sabine was a partner at another global law firm. She is fluent in German, English, and French, and reads Spanish and Italian.
